Meet the Teacher

My name is Lindsey Gathright. I have my Bachelors in Elementary Education and my Masters in Gifted Education, both from Drury University. This is my ninth year at WINGS, and my eighth year teaching 1st grade. I love working at Phelps, and I couldn't imagine a better place to work. I am excited for the opportunity to get to know each student and help them expand their minds to develop their creative and critical thinking skills!

Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my family.
I have been married to my husband, Justin, for 9 years. When time allows, my husband and I love to travel, bike, and watch the occasional movie or show. We have a very inquisitive 7-year-old boy, Drew, who will be a 2nd grader at Hickory Hills & WINGS this year, and a very active 4-year-old boy, Calvin. Both boys have been fascinated with researching dinosaurs this summer. As a family, we enjoy exploring outside, dancing (not very well), and playing games. During my free time I enjoy listening to and playing music. While I play a few different instruments, my favorite is piano! I also love scary movies, baking, and reading a good mystery. We have two cats, Jasmine and Olive. Jasmine is our older kitty and acts more like a dog, as she loves car rides and socializing. Olive is super spunky and loves to play hide-and-seek with us.
